Her Mission

Kiniro was kind of right. She always liked it if days weren’t too predictable. But this gang could disrupt the lives of countless souls. Larentia decided to ignore it, for now. They had told the others and someone was probably keeping an eye on their activities.

Another week went by without much trouble. Lives were saved, some were lost. It seemed like a normal day when she went to check on them. Everything was fine and everything seemed to go as planned. A small boy entered the building, he didn’t say anything and sat down quietly on one of the beds.

Larentia went to check on him, but he seemed to be fine. He just sat there and watched the doctors and nurses. A few hours went by, until he stood up and walked over to her. He pulled her robe, until she got down to his level. “Is there something wrong?” She asked and gave him a smile.

He nodded and ran out of the building. She watched him run away. “I’ll be back in a few.” She told her co-workers before following the boy. He waited on the other side of the street and ran off as soon as he saw her. She continued to follow him, while wondering what’s wrong. Playing tag with kids... My aren’t you a busy lady.

The boy ran on and on, with Larentia tagging close behind. He wasn’t that hard to follow, his legs were a lot smaller then her. If she got behind a simple shunpo would solve it. Eventually he stopped at a normal looking house and waited until she stood in front of him. He pointed at the house in silence, before he vanished.

Larentia knew that little boys weren’t supposed to vanish spontaneously, but the house he had brought her to intrigued her. It felt off, like it wasn’t supposed to be here. Like that boy? Kiniro asked, in a serious tone for once. Yes, now that you mention it... She placed her hand on the front door, which only confirmed her feeling.

What do you think? Should I go in? She asked Kiniro, remembering the last time at the cave. Why ask me? I know you love to wander into obvious traps. I don’t wanna go around ruining your fun! She sighed, the sarcastic tone and attitude was back. I should check it out...
