The Clank of wood

I walked into my zanjetsu class,finally on my second year of school at the Shino Academy. I walked in early and looked around the empty room. I shrugged and smiled to myself. "Might as well get a little practice in a guess" I thought to myself. I walked over to the rack of wooden sword and grabbed one. I began to swing at the air,practicing my moves on the air.

As I continued to practice against the air I hear the door open and laughs as they entered. Then silence, I could feel their eyes burning into the back of my head. I stopped after my next swing and looked behind myself to see three students standing in front of the door. "Hey look its Shinji." The boy to the left of their leader said. I looked at the three of them and smiled. "Hello. How are you all today?" I asked politely.

The leader looked at me and I could sense the aggravation in the air. He began to walk towards me in a hurried pace. As he was approaching a nearby rack he grabbed a sword quickly and swung it down at me.

As I saw the sword come down at me I stepped to the right but made no moves to attack. "Have I done something to offend you?" I asked. I began to examine the leader. He was only a first year but the others were both second years just like me. I bean to think if I knew this kid. He took a step towards me,lifted his blade, and swung at my head, focusing on the right side.

As it approached I took action,wanting to know why he was doing this. I lifted my right hand over my head and held the blade downwards. There was a clank of wood as our wooden blades met. "Do I know you by any chance?" I asked nicely and curious. He looked at me with deathly cold eyes. "You don't remember me? I'm the guy you beat up last year! My crew left because of you!" He blurted out at me. I continued to smile. "There is no real need to raise your voice. Lets get calm and have a nice cup of tea." I said gently.

He let out a yell of fury as he withdrew his previous strike and jabbed the sword towards my stomach. I saw him act so I reacted to protect myself. I brought my sword downwards and hit the back of his sword with my blade so that it was dropped out of his hands. I put my sword to his neck as he tried to bend down to pick it up. "We don't have to fight. Lets all be friends. Whatcha say?" I ask peacefully and with a gentle smile.

There was a opening of the door and the other two people with the leader looked at the door. In came the teacher and looked over at the leader and I. "Is there something going on here?" He asked us. I shook my head gently. "Nothing sir,just a simple spar. We were just finishing." As I finished speaking I put my sword back on the rack as well as the leader's sword and prepared for class.
